The westernmost of the gorges that puncture the West MacDonnells is multihued, cathedral-like Redbank Gorge. A permanent waterhole runs for kilometres through the labyrinthine gorge and makes for an incredible swimming and scrambling adventure on a hot day. The access road is 4WD only and it's a one-hour return walk from the car park to the gorge.
