This enchanting campground, among spotted-gum trees and peopled by curious kangaroos, is opposite an idyllic sandy beach. There are 60 sites and one- and two-bedroom cabins ($169 to $210), with well-maintained furnishings and basic but ample kitchens; bring your own linen. Wildlife ventures into the grounds (don't feed the goannas), and the lack of mobile-phone coverage is a plus.
Nearby rambles include the rocky foreshore and short, well-marked loops through littoral rainforest. Signs at the reception cabin detail the closest hot spots for a phone signal (a few hundred metres away).
Cabins usually have a two-night minimum stay.
