Built by the local marquis in the late 17th century, Yavi’s intriguing church – one of northern Argentina's most fascinating – preserves stunning altarpieces in sober baroque style, covered in gold leaf and adorned with excellent paintings and sculptures, mostly from the Cuzco School. The translucent onyx windows also stand out.
