Estancia Las Tacanas

Salta & the Andean Northwest

This historic complex in the center of town feels like a rural retreat. It was once a Jesuit estancia and its adobe buildings, more than three centuries old, house tasteful, rustic rooms. One is especially historic, with noble furniture and beamed ceilings. Others have more of a mix and match of furnishings.

Maintenance has gotten a bit loose here but it's still good value and a memorable place to stay. Don't expect modern luxury: it's the character and history you're paying for.
