Ecoposada del Estero

Best in town for bird watching, this place is warmly run by a couple who know the area intimately. Ecological design has resulted in comfortable cool adobe buildings with wide verandas, hammocks and attractive homemade recycled wooden furnishings. House excursions are fantastic but you'll also see plenty from here: the lodge sits on the edge of the water and has abundant birdlife.

There's a short boardwalk through the wetlands and a high observation tower right by the edge of the lake.
