Just outside the national park, Bumi has a commanding hilltop location with magnificent panoramic views of the lake. It's more resort than safari lodge (it has hotel-style rooms and the property is fenced off so animals no longer wander about), but it has a lovely garden setting and a stunning infinity pool overlooking Lake Kariba.
It has its own airstrip so many arrive via charter flights, otherwise it's a US$70 boat transfer from Kariba. Discounts on room rates are often available.
