Waiola Shave Ice

The original store of this mini-chain dates to the 1940s – and looks it. The shave ice here is old-style: sliced powder fine, then flavored with an array of syrups. Go local and try the POG (passion fruit, orange, guava) or the luscious banana cream. The unchanged grocery store interior boasts lots of old-timey candy. Seating is limited to a wooden bench out front.
