Smith's Union Bar

Top choice in Honolulu

Every year, Smith's is a gathering spot for people remembering the Pearl Harbor attack, as it was the chosen bar of the crew of the USS Arizona before December 7, 1941. The rest of the time it's a dive bar in the best sense, with cheap cold beer (even a few craft brews) and a genial crowd of locals, office workers, students and the odd tourist.

You can see an echo of Hotel Street's notorious past in the old neon sign hanging over the building next door: 'Club Hubba Bubba Live Nude Shows.'
