The former Morton Salt headquarters building (1896) has found new life as a boutique hotel at the Loop’s southern edge. It’s a unique location midway between downtown’s core and the Museum Campus, though not much goes on in the evenings. The modern furnishings, set off by pops of red, are spread out in well-sized rooms, with huge bathrooms. Free wi-fi.
Breakfast is not included, but there's a good cafe on-site for omelets and creative French-toast dishes, with vegan and gluten-free options. If rates swing up to the high end of the spectrum, you’ll probably get better bang for your buck elsewhere.
