Al Jazeera Royal Hotel

With some of the cheapest rates in town, this friendly little 55-room hotel opposite the gold souq largely caters for Indian and Asian business clientele and has an excellent, low-key Indian–Middle Eastern restaurant, Al Ibrahimi, on site. This is a good place to get a feel for local life, and appropriately it doesn't have a bar.
