HBT Hotel Russell

This place is potentially the best of the very few midrange options in Kampala, though a faulty air-con unit could be a big blow. It's superbly central and has spacious, stylish and impressively clean rooms, a good restaurant that serves all meals (and does room service) and friendly – if not always efficient – staff.
