Fondouk El Attarine

Tunis

Managing to please both locals and tourists is a skill that few restaurants in Tunis have mastered. Fortunately, this meticulously restored funduq (caravanserai) close to the Zitouna Mosque does just that, serving authentic, well-cooked Tunisian food to a bustling lunch crowd in the building's magnificent covered courtyard. It also serves tea and coffee in an adjacent salon. No alcohol.
