The Jugurtha is Gafsa's number-one hotel address and covers a lot of property 4km west of town. Subtle it isn't – its royal ambitions translate into cheesy, grandiose furnishings in the rooms, and kitsch galore in the lobby, lounge, bar and restaurant. The large pool area, looking out to the mountains is rather lovely, however.
