Big, glowering murals of Lemmy and Beethoven stare each other out across the rock-attitude bar which doubles as reception for this unusual ho(s)tel. Located in one of the repurposed Strijp-S factory buildings, rooms and well-planned cubicle-dorms ooze design style with a conscious nod to the area's industrial heritage. Breakfast is €10.
It's certainly a memorable place. The windowless dorm-bunks have lockers, lamps and power points but there's neither kitchen nor kettle – use the 4th-floor Starlight Restaurant with its extensive views across the railway and Strijp-S Station. On concert nights, drumming can penetrate the soul. Parking costs €7. Prices quoted on the website exclude €3.50 per person city tax.
