Named for its numberless Philipspilih clock, the starkly unbeautified Klokgebouw is the entertainment nerve-centre of Strijp-S (www.strijp-s.nl), Eindhoven's main post-industrial regeneration zone, 2km northwest of the centre. There are workshops, inventive restaurants and bars, a rock-and-roll hostel-hotel, one of Europe's top-five indoor skateboard parks and several concert/exhibition spaces.
The biggest provides full-powered kidney-ripping base dynamics for techno nights that give the feel of an illicit 1990s rave.
