Bao Pradit

Top choice in Northeastern Thailand

It’s a bit of a trek south of the centre, but this is a real Isan restaurant with dishes such as gôry kài mót daang (raw meat 'salad' with red-ant eggs) and gang wăi (rattan curry). Though the English menu is mysterious (Bao Pradit doesn’t really serve python), it’s rare that a restaurant of this sort has any English.

In the evenings there's live Thai folk music (pleng pêua chee·wít). There's no English sign, but the entrance is across from a tall lime-green building.
