Unpretentious and friendly, Bai Fern is also surprisingly good. The Western food – breakfasts, steaks, pasta and pizza – is especially reliable, but this is also a fine place to sample Burmese cuisine (tell the staff if this is what you want to eat and they'll make some suggestions that aren't on the menu), while there are plenty of Thai and vegetarian options, too.
