Praya Palazzo

Top choice in Banglamphu

After lying dormant for over 30 years, this elegant 19th-century mansion in Thonburi was reborn as an attractive riverside boutique hotel in 2011. The 17 rooms can seem rather tight, and river views can be elusive, but the meticulous renovation, handsome antique furnishings and bucolic atmosphere deliver a boutique hotel with authentic old-world charm.

The fact that the hotel is located on a canal-bound islet and can only be accessed by the riverway makes it an unwise choice for night owls, but an excellent hideaway for honeymooners, sleep-deprived souls and solitude seekers.
