Railay Garden View

A steep set of stairs leads to this collection of tin-roofed, fan-cooled, woven-bamboo and shiny-wood bungalows, stilted between tropical gardens high above the mangroves at the northeastern end of the beach. The bungalows are simple but spacious, the best have fine sea views. Bring mosquito repellent and a torch for after-dark walks. It's in a quiet location.
