In an unprepossessing alley near the Opera House, this surprisingly atmospheric restaurant is a treat both in terms of its rural Russian decor (think theatre posters, heavy beams and samovars) and extensive Ukrainian menu (pot roasted pork, cutlets with buckwheat, sweet and sour pikeperch, and compote). A cosy outdoor terrace attracts a lively crowd in summer.
