All countryside comfort and rustic charm, this Spanish-Dutch owned country home lies cloaked in olive and almond groves, 14km southeast of Trujillo. There are 13 comfy, flowery, all-different rooms – one occupies restored stables. 'Suites', with big sharing balconies, sleep four. Cosy lounges, 100-year-old tiles, wide-open gardens and a turquoise-toned pool add to the appeal. It's signposted off the EX208, south of Km 89.

Meals (menú €30), picnics (€14), horse rides and winery tours are available on request.
