Parador Conde de Orgaz

High above the southern bank of Río Tajo, Toledo's low-rise parador (luxurious state-owned hotel) has a classy interior and sublime views (ask for a room with a balcony!). Rooms are relatively spacious and not as heritage-heavy as other paradores. You'll need a car or a taxi ride (around €8) to get here from the old town. Be prepared: it's popular with tour groups.
