La Colmena

La Rambla & Barri Gòtic

One of Barcelona's most ancient pastry shops, 1868-opened La Colmena is still run by the same family who acquired it in 1927 and produces its treats according to the original recipes. The Roig family sells many delicacies, but is best known for its boiled sweets, pine-nut-encrusted panellets (almond cakes), meringues and bolados (18th-century powdered-sugar candy, flavoured with juice).
