La Rambla & Barri Gòtic

Famed for its (good, affordable) Spanish wines, this snug modern restaurant, wine shop and deli has a strong local following. Beer-barrel tables and shelves stacked with olive oil and tinned seafood adorn a dimly lit room, while delicious dishes take in herbed-cod carpaccio, garlic-baked prawns and original cheese platters. The weekday menú (€11.25) is excellent value.
