World Begins with Every Kiss Mural

La Rambla & Barri Gòtic

Created by Barcelona photographer Joan Fontcuberta for the 300th Diada Nacional de Catalunya (2014), this seductive mural depicts a kiss between two people. Up close, however, it's composed of thousands of individual freedom-themed photos, which were sent in by readers of El Periódico newspaper and transferred on to tiny mosaics. Hidden down an alley opposite the cathedral, it's a popular photo spot.
