Sagarlore

Top choice in San Sebastián

Surrounded by apple orchards, this 16th-century former brick and tile factory 7km southeast of San Sebastián has been beautifully converted to a 16-room hotel. All rooms are named after local apple varieties, with apple-scented toiletries and its own cider, plus pressed apple juice and orchard-produced honey at breakfast (€9). Many rooms have balconies or terraces; one is wheelchair accessible.

Its garden-set swimming pool opens June to September. Tours of local cider producers can be arranged.
