Bodega El Lagar

Hidden on a winding side street behind Plaza de la Libertad, this tiny bodega is one of Pampaneira's best spots to eat. Decked out with rough white walls, farm tools and wicker baskets, it cooks up huge helpings of reassuring farmhouse food, including char-grilled steaks, delicate almond soups and the plato alpujarreño, plus a €10 set lunch.
