Teatr Wielki

Top choice in Warsaw

Dating from 1833, destroyed in WWII and rebuilt to Antonio Corazzi's original design in 1965, this magnificent building is home to the Polish National Opera and Ballet companies. The principal 1768-seat Moniuszko Auditorium, one of the world's largest opera stages, is used for a quality repertoire of classic and new works by Polish and international composers.

Productions, including classical music concerts, are also staged at the 248-seat Młynarski Hall. Before and during performances you can also visit the Opera Gallery for exhibitions of Polish avant-garde art and the Theatre Museum, in the Redutowe Rooms, which stages regularly changing shows on national theatrical topics.
