L'Eixample

Within a beautifully repurposed 1892 building with rust-red trim and lovely tiling, this laid-back neighbourhood gastrobar hit specialises in artfully prepared yet uncomplicated market-based tapas and platillos (sharing plates). Pick from platters of cold meats and local cheeses or a seasonal tortilla, or try the stuffed entrepans (filled rolls, perhaps with artichoke omelette or pungent Cabrales cheese), plus a vermouth or cava.

Chef Víctor Ferrer also runs hugely popular food-truck-turned-restaurant Bicnic, next door.
