This boutique guesthouse is everything one would expect of an address in the family palazzo where wealthy Pistoian philanthropist and merchant Niccolò Puccini was born in 1799. Eight elegant rooms lie beneath majestic high ceilings, some with original frescoes, and all are fitted with tasteful period furnishings and smart contemporary en suite bathrooms. Some overlook a peaceful courtyard, others a quiet backstreet.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary aperitivo in the lounge, or a (vintage bone-china) cup of tea in the beautiful breakfast room. The cakes, exquisitely arranged on period marble-topped dressers, are almost too pretty to eat.
