The leafy Grossneumarkt is a relaxed change from the more chichi parts of the Neustadt, and for decades Thämer's has anchored a prime spot with dozens of covered tables on the square. There's more inside the vaguely divey bar. Hearty German meals plus burgers are the speciality; the beer list is tops.
