Tempio di Vesta

This circular temple on the Roman Forum was dedicated to Vesta, the popular goddess of home, hearth and family. The Vestal Virgins, who lived next door in the Casa delle Vestali, were responsible for keeping the temple's sacred flame permanently alight.
