Matoi

Manila

This authentic Japanese eatery is divided into two parts: a tiny seven-seat sushi bar operated by the owner/chef and open from 5.30pm daily; and the main restaurant, with good-value lunch sets of ramen, tonkatsu and other Japanese staples. Shoot for dinner in the sushi bar, which comes with various free appetisers.

Good sake selection available. Both halves can be smokey.
