The plastic tables and chairs fronting Place des Ferblantiers make this restaurant look like a tourist trap, but through the back, it doubles as a busy grill stall for locals on a parallel street. The tourist menu is solid enough, but our money is on the grilled kefta (meatballs): ask for them with khobz (bread) and smen (fermented butter).
For Dh50, you'll get six stubby fingers of minced beef laced with ras el hanout spices and parsley, plus harissa (hot chilli paste), tomato and onion salad, and a small round loaf. Do as the locals do, and pinch the bread out of the middle to create room for layers of kefta and tomato. Drizzle with the tangy smen and voila: you have the most delicious Moroccan sandwich.
