Hotel Taselotzin

East of Mexico City

Just 800m south of town, this lodge is run by an association of 100 welcoming Nahua craftswomen who campaign for fair trade. The 10-room lodgings have hard mattresses and patchy wi-fi but are clean and simply decorated with embroidery designs. Traditional massages are offered and a restaurant serves local dishes.

Follow the right-hand fork past the turnoff to the Puebla road; watch for an inconspicuous sign on the right-hand side, about 300m downhill.
