Recently opened in a 300-year-old building on Mellieħa's heritage main square, the gutsy Mediterranean menu at Commando features a cassoulet of slow-cooked pork and beans, braised-beef ravioli, and a risotto of local rabbit. Served with local honey, the mqaret (deep-fried date pastries) are some of Malta's best. Either sit inside the vaulted interior, or outside with alfresco views.
