Tanoti

Kuching

The group of women at Tanoti are the only people to practise a distinct Sarawakian form of songket weaving, a way of creating embroidered fabrics. Visitors are welcome to visit the workshop and see the weaving, but call first to make arrangements. There's a small number of pieces for sale in the gallery shop.

The women work to commission, weaving pieces such as sampin (a traditional men's sarong) and decorative pieces.
