Hammam Ezzedine

Tripoli

Used from the 13th-century right up until 1975, this historic hammam is an extensive complex that is undergoing an elegant restoration. There's a typically indirect entrance to the mashlah (main cold room set around a fountain) and good information and intriguing plasterwork through the whole building. Note the relief of the Lamb of God on the entrance door: the block was reused from a former Crusader pilgrim hospice.
