Tanabe Ryokan

This smart ryokan has a central location, and its tiny, elderly proprietress is worth a visit all on her own. All tatami rooms have an en-suite bath, although the lovely common baths with their beamed ceilings are worth enjoying. A sumptuous dinner of kaiseki-style Hida cuisine completes the experience.
