This atmospheric option has sprouted from the ruins of an old 17th-century Spanish fort. The rooms have white bleached-stone walls and are lit by skylights. The bathrooms (cold water only) are festooned with climbing ivy; the bathroom in the upstairs ‘tower’ room is alfresco. Meals (on request, mainly vegetarian) are a social affair, served in a small thatched restaurant.
