Wake up in one of Burano's famous candy-coloured houses, courtesy of the stylish folks at Venissa who have converted five classic homes into an albergo diffuso – basically a spread-out hotel (not self-catering apartments). There's no reception; you'll be met at the ferry and led to your canalside cottage. Rooms are spacious and chic, and breakfast baskets are delivered daily.
