Ristorante Belvedere

Monterosso

With tables overlooking the beach, this unpretentious seafood restaurant is a good place to try the local bounty. Start with penne con scampi (pasta tubes with scampi) before diving into zuppa di pesce (fish soup). Or partake of the speciality, the amphora Belvedere (€49 for two), where lobsters, mussels, clams, octopus and swordfish are stewed in a herb-scented broth in traditional earthenware.

If you have your heart set on the amphora Belvedere, it's best to order this in advance.
