Anna

Agropoli

At the city-centre end of the promenade, no-fuss Anna has been a local favourite for decades. Family-run, with a B&B upstairs, it's best known for its pizzas, with expert bases made either with standard, wholewheat, spelt or kamut (Khorasan wheat) flour. Try the sorpresa pizza, whose eight-slice selection includes mussels, aubergines, courgettes, marinated pork, ham, prawns and spicy sausage.

More traditional seafood dishes include zuppa di pesce (fish soup) and grilled swordfish. This is also a good place for an energy-stoking start to the day, with more than eight types of cornetti (croissants) to choose from, including white chocolate.
