This 200-year-old traditional thatched pub 2.2km southeast of Birr is a great place to sip a pint or enjoy a meal at lunch (à la carte) or dinner (fixed-price menus only) in its brick-and-stone interior warmed by open fires. Alongside traditional roasts, specialities include black pudding–stuffed duck.
