This Ano Poli taverna's ordinary looks hide some extraordinary food. Slow-cooked pork shank in thyme, anything grilled, and daily specials such as mushrooms with cured pork and Cretan cheese all testify eloquently to the know-how in the kitchen. The excellent salads make use of whatever's in season, and there are local beers and tsipouro (pomace brandy) to wash things down.
