Hotel Marienbad

Back in the 19th century, Wagner, Puccini and Rilke shacked up at the Marienbad, which once ranked among Munich's finest hotels. The place is still friendly and well maintained, and the 30 rooms flaunt an endearing jumble of styles, from playful art nouveau to floral country Bavarian to campy 1960s utilitarian. Amenities are of more recent vintage.
