The company founded by Bertolt Brecht in 1949 is based at the neobaroque theatre called Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, where his Threepenny Opera premiered in 1928. Oliver Reese, who became artistic director in 2017, keeps the master’s legacy alive while also exploring new frontiers, for instance by staging the German premiere of Mary Page Marlowe by American Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Tracy Letts.
