DJH Hostel

Nuremberg

Open year-round, this impressive youth hostel is one of Germany's best and a real trip-stopper with a standard of facilities many four-star hotels would envy. Fully revamped a decade ago, the ancient Kornhaus is a dramatic building itself, but now flaunts crisply designed corridors, well-maintained dorms with supermodern bathrooms, a canteen, bar and very helpful staff.

The only downside here is that in the summer months you can get a discounted single on popular booking sites for the price of a dorm bed in a four-bunk room here.
