Pension Leydj

The Marquesas

In a plum setting on a hill at the edge of Hakahetau, this mellow pension offers clean, well-swept yet impersonal rooms at a nice price. Bathrooms (hot water) are shared. Owner Tony is a renowned master carver and the living room is like a small art gallery – you won’t find a better place to buy high-quality souvenirs.

Some seriously good Marquesan meals are served on the terrace with a view of the bay. Various excursions can be organised.
