Strobi

Montmartre & Northern Paris

For an authentic taste of the edgy and increasingly happening Batignolles district, duck into this contemporary bistro and kick back around a scrubbed wooden table (or, should your luck be in, the worn leather sofa with street view). The season-inspired menu of chef Clement Eymery changes monthly and each dish ingeniously comes in a 'gourmet' (starter) or 'gourmand' (main) size.

Pork with mandarin gravy and roast butternut pumpkin or poached whiting with anchovies, pistachio and a creamy mushroom mash are delicious autumnal creations. End with a carefully chosen, unusual cheese – AOC Ossau Iraty from French Basque Country, perhaps, married to sweet perfection with a dollop of black-cherry jam.
